UW-Oshkosh Nonresident Resources

To ensure students feel empowered to pursue their higher education goals, UW-Oshkosh has multiple programs and scholarships that make college more affordable. The options listed below are tailored specifically for U.S. students residing outside of the state of Wisconsin.

Join us as a Titan National Scholar!
Titan National Scholar (TNS) is an impressive scholarship program that benefits students over the course of four years. Nonresident students who qualify will pay the in-state tuition rate (cumulative total of more than $30,000 in savings over four years). No application is necessary, and recipients are contacted directly by the Admissions Office.
Out-of-state students (excluding Minnesota residents) who meet the gpa requirements will automatically qualify for TNS. There is no application, and the Admissions office will be in touch with you shortly after your acceptance to confirm your TNS status.
GPA Requirements:
First-year freshman: 2.5 or higher (unweighted)
Transfer: 2.5 or higher (unweighted, with at least 12 transferable credits)
The following are not eligible for the Titan National Scholar program:
- students who are eligible for Minnesota Reciprocity (more information on this below)
- international students
- students in online or specialty programs
No. UW Oshkosh does not limit the number of students who receive the Titan National Scholar award, provided they meet the academic eligibility requirements.
The program is available to all students, with the exception of those eligible to apply for Minnesota reciprocity, international students, students who do not meet the minimum gpa criteria, and students participating in online or specialty programs.
Yes. All majors are eligible. The only exclusions are online degrees and specialty programs.
Yes, TNS will be included in your financial aid package. When viewing your financial aid package on TitanWeb, the annual monetary value of TNS will reflect the difference between your out-of-state baseline tuition rate and the Wisconsin in-state tuition rate.
For nonresident students, TNS will have a monetary value of $7,914 on your financial aid package. For Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, and South Dakota) residents, TNS will have a monetary value of $3,532. Residents of the Midwest states already have discounted baseline tuition(Midwest States Tuition Rate), which is reflected in the monetary value of TNS. Rest assured, all eligible students will pay the Wisconsin in-state tuition rate.
TNS will be applied to all eligible, full-time students’ accounts after the census date each semester.
To maintain eligibility, students must meet the following requirements:
- Maintain full-time enrollment status (at least 12 credits per term) and attend consecutive terms
- Eligibility will continue until 120 credits are earned (usually 4 years), including UW Oshkosh credits, test credits, transfer credits, etc. Earned credits will be evaluated at the start of the academic year
- Students must meet minimum Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards. For more information, see here.
