Your UWO NetID is the first part of your UW-Oshkosh email address — everything before the “@” symbol. You can find this information in the email we sent after you submitted your Hold Your Spot form.
Once your account is active, log in to your email. Be sure to check your inbox often for important updates and next steps from campus departments.
If you need help setting up your NetID or email, contact the IT Service Desk at 920-424-3020 or itservicedesk@uwosh.edu. Our team is always ready to support you through the process.
After you activate your NetID, and once Titan Takeoff registration is open, sign up right away to secure your date. This on-campus experience combines orientation, advising and course registration to help you start strong as a Titan.
- Spring 2026 students: Registration opens November 4
- Fall 2026 students: Registration opens February 4
Check your UWO student email regularly to ensure you don’t miss detailed information about Titan Takeoff.
First-Year Students
If you’re a senior in high school, have graduated from high school, and/or have never attended college, you’ll register for classes at Titan Takeoff.
Transfer Students
If you’re a transfer student, you need to schedule an advising appointment in addition to attending Titan Takeoff. During this meeting, you can discuss how your previous credits transfer to UWO and plan your course of study.
International Students
International students also need to complete additional steps, such as navigating the visa application process and completing Student Health Center paperwork. Contact iss@uwosh.edu for help.
Online Program Students
Schedule an advising appointment to discuss online course enrollment.
UWO requires students to take placement tests to ensure they enroll in courses that align with their competencies. Placement test requirements vary by student type. You may be exempt if you have successfully completed a transferable course in English composition or math.
- Fall students: Placement testing opens in March
- Spring students: Placement testing opens in December or January
Review our placement testing information to learn more.
First-Year Students
You must complete your English and math placement tests at least two weeks before attending Titan Takeoff. We also offer optional foreign language placement tests in French, Spanish and German.
You may be exempt if you’ve successfully completed a transferable college-level course (e.g., Cooperative Academic Partnership Program or Early College Credit Program) in English composition, math or a foreign language, or if you’ve earned a qualifying AP or IB exam score before your senior year.
Transfer Students
If you’ve already completed a transferable college-level English composition and math course, you are not required to take a placement test. Your Transfer Credit Evaluation will confirm if your courses meet this requirement.
After activating your NetID, you can begin your housing and dining application using your UWO NetID and password. A $75 housing deposit is required at the time of submission.
Review our housing and dining application timeline.
Housing Exemptions
Most first-year and sophomore students must live in UWO’s residence halls unless they meet specific criteria. To be exempt from our housing requirements, you must:
- Be a veteran, married or 21 years of age or older
- Have lived in a residence hall for four semesters
- Have successfully completed at least 48 credits
- Have permission to commute from a parent or guardian’s home within 45 miles of campus
If you want to request an exemption, complete the Commuter Card form on or before your first day of classes.
To help fund your education, your next step is to apply for financial aid. Start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Be sure to include the UW-Oshkosh school code: 003920.
In addition to federal aid, you can also apply for the many scholarships UW–Oshkosh offers to support your academic journey. To learn more, review our scholarship opportunities and specific deadlines and submission requirements, which may vary.
If you’re currently enrolled in academic coursework, your admission is contingent upon successfully completing those courses and meeting admission requirements.
Please submit official final transcripts from all in-progress courses as soon as they become available.
If you completed AP or IB exams in high school or earned military credit, you may be eligible for college credit. AP scores can be requested from College Board. UWO’s College Board institution code is 1916.
Review the AP and IB Credit Charts to see how your scores may transfer.
If you’re a transfer student, additional documentation may be required. Learn more about your next steps to ensure you submit all the necessary materials.
