U.S. Students
Follow the standard graduate admissions process, including completing your application and submitting required materials. Admission requirements vary by program.

International Students

How to Apply
At UW-Oshkosh, we keep the application process clear and manageable so you can focus on your goals.
Before you begin, explore your program to understand specific admission requirements and deadlines.
Submit the Universities of Wisconsin online application and select the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.
- $56 nonrefundable application fee
- Fee waivers available for eligible McNair Scholars
- If you’ve applied to a UW-Oshkosh graduate program within the past 10 years, you may not need to pay again
References
- Typically three professional or academic references
- Some programs require fewer or none
- Requirements vary by program
Transcripts
- Official transcripts from all regionally accredited institutions
- Sent directly from the issuing institution
- UW-Oshkosh transcripts are not required for current or former students
Graduate programs may require additional materials such as:
- Essays
- Licensure documentation
- Portfolios or interviews

Important Information by Student Type
International Students
Because of immigration and processing requirements, international applicants should apply earlier.
- Fall admission deadline: March 1
- Spring admission deadline: Sept. 1
- Applications submitted after deadlines are considered on a space-available basis
- Summer admission is generally not available
Returning Graduate Students
Graduate admission is granted for a specific term. If you are unable to begin as planned, contact the Graduate School to adjust your start date.
- Continuous enrollment is expected after beginning coursework
- Students who do not enroll for up to 24 months may resume by registering for courses
- Students exceeding 24 months without enrollment must seek approval from their program coordinator
